CKH Realty awards RM105 million contract to China`s MCC Group

KUCHING: CKH Realty Group (CKH Realty) has awarded a construction contract to MCC East Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a fully-owned subsidiary company controlled by China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC Group).

The RM105 million contract is for the construction of MetroCity Square`s twin 18-storey towers housing 386 apartment units, a 600 bay multi-storey car-park and 124 units of ground floor arcade shops, excluding piling works.

MCC Group is a Fortune 500 company and one of China`s largest state-owned construction enterprise engaged in EPC (engineering, procurement and construction).

Construction will commence June 1, 2016 with completion within 30 months, that is by November 30, 2018.

Chairman/managing director of CKH Realty Dato Chong Kia Hoi expressed his confidence in the timely completion of MetroCity Square, given MCC Group`s strength and proven track record.

"This is MCC Group`s first foray into the state of Sarawak and we are proud that they have agreed to partner with CKH Realty in buiding the first twin 18-storey towers in Matang.

"We are leveraging on MCC Group`s financial strength, vast commercial networks and advanced construction technologies to bring about fast track development both in MetroCity and Sarawak in general," he said.

MCC East Malaysia Managing Director Lin Wei said that they will reply on CKH Realty as their trusted local partner to steer MCC Group to more projects in this beautiful and resourch-rich state.

"We are very honoured to be awarded this contract and believe our partnership with CKH Realty will bring about stronger economic cooperation between Chinese companies and Sarawak.

"I hope this paves the way for a much enhanced level of joint ventures in the future between MCC Group and CKH Realty as we are very keen to undertake further projects in MetroCity and also Sarawak in general, she said.
